Director of Federal Affairs

The American Occupational Therapy Association, a national health care professional association has an immediate opening for a Director of Federal Affairs to provide senior supervision and direction of federal activities in our Public Affairs group. This individual will be responsible for strategic planning of federal legislative & related actions as well as managing the representation & advocacy of Association’s interests before the U.S. Congress and selected agencies, especially in Medicare. Primarily responsible for developing, directing and influencing advocacy initiatives to ensure the profession’s interests are protected, advanced and reflected in the development of public policy.  Manages communication of federal activities to members. Responsible for management of grassroots lobbying program on federal issues.   

Requirements: BA/BS + min. 8-10 years of related experience especially in health care. Must possess excellent writing skills, project management and strategic thinking ability. Strong interpersonal/communication skills are also required.
