Planning Your Conference
Plan Your Conference Educational Sessions
The AOTA Annual Conference & Expo features offerings on a multitude of topics geared to various experience levels and presented in different degrees of depth. Select from over 760 education sessions that suit your interests and meet your needs. There is so much to choose from to expand your horizons!
Going Green and Conference Handouts
Thanks to feedback from past attendees, the 2011 Annual Conference & Expo continues AOTA’s commitment to becoming “greener” every year. Having taken many initiatives in the past to create a healthier environment and reduce our carbon footprint, we continue our policy of no paper handouts.
Handouts for the 2011 Conference will be available to attendees on the AOTA Web site. Look for improvements to the system this year that will make it easier than ever to locate and download handouts! As you build your Conference & Expo itinerary online, you will be able to download all available handouts for the educational sessions that you have selected.
When you pick up your Conference tote (made from recycled materials) and other registration materials on site you will receive a padfolio. This will allow you to take notes if you have not previously downloaded the handouts. Not to worry if you missed any handouts; these will be available to download for 4 weeks after Conference on the AOTA Web site.
Accessibility Services
Services for individuals with accessibility needs will be available to enable access to all scheduled programming. Participants are asked to submit requests for accommodations with their registration no later than March 18, 2011.
Requests that are not already identified on the Registration Form should be directed to AOTA at accessibilityservices@aota.org or by calling 800-SAY-AOTA, ext. 2051 (members); 301-652-6611, ext. 2051 (nonmembers/local); or 800-377-8555 (TDD).

Conference Connections
Enhance your networking experience at Conference through AOTA Friend Connect in the “Conference Connections” public forum on OT Connections. After you register for Conference, you will be invited to enter information such as your name, maiden name, state, school, and area of practice into this easy-to-use database. You may fill in as many or as few of the fields as you want. AOTA Friend Connect is searchable by any of the fields, allowing you to find old friends or make new contacts before arriving in Philadelphia. If you need a roommate at Conference or someone to share a ride with from the airport, post a message in the Conference Connections forum and get connected!
Note: AOTA offers Friend Connect and Conference Connections as a convenience for attendees. AOTA assumes no responsibility for actions resulting from their use.
