Grace Chen worked with mentor Virginia Stoffel, PhD, OT, BCMH, FAOTA, on making AOTA’s Centennial Vision more accessible to students and new practitioners. Grace created resources for students and new practitioners to align their practice with the Centennial Vision.
“The experience for me has been eye opening and exciting,” says Grace. She had the opportunity to sit in on board meetings and shadow Stoffel while attending AOTA’s 2010 Annual Conference & Expo in Orlando. The program helped Grace learn how to introspectively reflect and find her core values.
How did Emerging Leaders help you to live life to its fullest?
“My definition of Living Life To Its Fullest means continuous exploration and growth to where I’m able to positively and therapeutically impact those around me. [This program] provided the initial building blocks, and I plan to actively incorporate the skills and resources I’ve gained to continue creating news goals to grow my definition of living life to its fullest,” says Grace.
