Kristen Weber worked with mentor Donna Costa, DHS, OTR/L, FAOTA. Kristen’s project included writing an article for OT Practice about her experience working in Nepal with the Rehabilitation, Empowerment, and Development (READ) leprosy clinic. She has also had the opportunity to work toward completing personal goals that will help her develop as a well rounded occupational therapist.
Kristen gained the confidence she needed to start participating in her state occupational therapy association. She learned that leadership development takes time, and as she settled into her new career and developed her skills, she decided to seek out more opportunities to lead.
How did Emerging Leaders help you to live life to its fullest?
“To me, living life to its fullest means taking advantage of every opportunity that comes your way. This program challenged me by increasing the opportunities that came to me. It also provided role models for me who maintain a healthy work and life balance,” says Kristen.
