AOTA Members Help AOTPAC Meet 2011 Fundraising Goal

With less than 2 months to meet the American Occupational Therapy Political Action Committee (AOTPAC) 2011 fundraising goal, AOTPAC Board members and staff worked together to encourage last minute contributions. Using telemarketing, a mailing to past contributors, e-mails, and personal outreach, AOTPAC not only met their 2011 fundraising goal, but surpassed it, raising more than $225,000 for the year.

AOTPAC was impressed with the response of AOTA members and the generosity of their last-minute contributions, bringing in more than $60,000 in the last 2 months of 2011. The funds raised will allow AOTPAC to continue their work of protecting occupational therapy and supporting candidates who understand and wish to help the profession. The political climate today is tough—with budget cuts, health care reform, and many other issues—and your AOTPAC contributions will help keep occupational therapy in the forefront in Washington.
