Build on the Momentum of Record Setting Capitol Hill Day- Bring OT in High Definition to Capitol Hill

On September 20, 2010 nearly 400 occupational therapy practitioners and students came to Washington D.C. to make the voice of occupational therapy heard on Capitol Hill. It is imperative for the profession and consumers we serve to build on the momentum from this record setting hill day.

It is critical that we continue to advocate throughout the year on issues critical to the profession and urge all practitioners to utilize AOTA’s legislative action center to contact their members of Congress today!!!

The Medicare Part B outpatient Therapy Caps are poised for implementation on January 1, 2011, leaving Congress only a short window of time to address this critical issue before thousands of patients lose access to critical services. The timeline for addressing this issue is further complicated by the fact that this is an election year and Congress is expected to finish business soon -- leaving dangerously few legislative days between now and implementation of these arbitrary caps.

In our ongoing advocacy efforts we urge you to go to AOTA’s Legislative Action Center to advocate on this critical issue.

Go to the Hill Day Gallery on OT Connections to experience Hill Day for yourself, and join us next year!
