Multiple Sclerosis Video Focuses on Occupational Therapy and Home Modification

The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) has a new  web video, Making Your Home Work for You, which highlights the important connection between occupational therapy, multiple sclerosis, and home modifications. The three-part video features interviews with AOTA member and NCOTA President Carol Siebert, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA, and a former client who  modified her home and lifestyle to meet the daily challenges of multiple sclerosis.

In addition, the video offers a guided tour of the client’s home and showcases small- to large-scale structural adaptations as well as the use of adaptive equipment and energy conservation techniques.

The program is divided into chapters for each segment and has transcript and other interactive features. See MSAA’s Web site. The video is intended for consumer audiences but may  also be helpful to OT practitioners and students.
