Rep. Giffords’ Physician To Speak On The Importance of Rehabilitation in America’s Healthcare System
Bethesda, MD—Dr. Gerard Francisco, chief medical officer at TIRR Memorial Hermann, is slated to be a featured speaker at a Congressional briefing tomorrow.
Remarks will be given by Rep. Jim Langevin (D-RI) and Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA). Langevin is paralyzed, a result of a gun that was accidentally discharged. McMorris Rodgers’ son, Cole, was born with Downs Syndrome in 2007.
The American Occupational Therapy Association is a co-sponsor of the event. Occupational therapist Leslie Davidson from Shenandoah University will be available to address questions about the role of OT in rehabilitation.
