AOTA's National Media Campaign

Following the successful Times Square ad in April 2011, AOTA launched a series of print ads promoting the profession. The national campaign is another way AOTA is putting occupational therapy in high definition.

USA Today AdUSA Today (Regional circulation 58,395)

This ad was created to educate consumers on the value of occupational therapy.

USA Today is widely distributed and is known for providing concise news in an easy-to-read format.

  • Ad ran in the April 25, 2012, issue on the back of the Money section, to coincide with AOTA's Annual Conference & Expo in Indianapolis.

Caring Ad thumbnailCaring (Circulation 30,000)

This ad was created in response to the Home Health rule that went into effect this spring. It urges facilities to support AOTA membership for their staff and points to AOTA resources on this topic.

  • Caring magazine is published by the National Association of Home Care and Hospice (NAHC). It targets home health agencies, home care and hospice physicians and nurses, home care aide organizations, and others.
  • Ad ran in the September 2011 and October 2011 issues, with bonus distribution at the NAHC conference in October.

Pediatric Ad thumbnailPediatrics (Circulation 65,000)

This ad was created to urge pediatricians to refer to occupational therapy.

  • Pediatrics is the official peer-reviewed journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics. It targets pediatricians, with the editorial focusing on the "whole child." All ads also appear in the online, ipad, and iphone versions, with live HTML links.
  • Ad ran in the October 2011 issue, with bonus distribution at National Conference of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

American Family Physicians Ad thumbnailAmerican Family Physician (Circulation 169,000)

This ad was created to urge physicians to refer their older patients to occupational therapy.

  • American Family Physicianis a peer reviewed journal of the American Academy of Family Physicians. It targets family physicians, general practitioners, internists, and osteopaths in family medicine.
  • Ad ran in the October 15, 2011, issue.
