Telehealth, supervision, and more: Advocacy wins from the 2025 Medicare Part B final rule

The 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) final rule, outlining changes to Medicare Part B policies effective January 1, 2025, was released by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on November 1, 2024. Leading up to its release, AOTA was engaged in multi-year advocacy with both CMS and Congress to address ongoing coverage and reimbursement challenges experienced by occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs). Within these finalized policies are key wins resulting from AOTA’s advocacy. Several of these policies are highlighted here.
