AOTA E.K. Wise scholarship

The fund for the E. K. Wise scholarship was established in the 1960s through the generous bequest of Elizabeth K. Wise and supports students pursuing an entry-level occupational therapy (OT) or occupational therapy assistant (OTA) degree from diverse backgrounds. Yearly, three awards will be granted in the amount of $2,500. Students may apply for a second year.
Accepting applications February 5 - March 11, 2024.


Qualified applicants must

  • Be enrolled (or accepted) in an ACOTE® entry-level OT or OTA program on a full-time basis
  • Be enrolled in the program for the full Fall 2024 - Spring 2025 academic year
  • Be in good academic standing
  • Demonstrate leadership and community service
  • Be a current member of AOTA at the time of the application and presentation of award
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

E. K. Wise scholarship application requirements

  • Complete the online application
  • Two qualified references (at least one from faculty) within the application using this Reference Form.
  • Personal narrative: One of the Association’s objectives is to develop a well-prepared, diverse workforce. In the narrative explain how you can contribute to meeting this initiative. In addition, share some of your background and what motivated you to become an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant and identify your plans as a future practitioner.
