The term neurodiversity refers to brain differences viewed as a human diversity factor and emphasizes the natural neurocognitive differences of all people. Individuals with conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and intellectual and development disabilities (IDD) have neurocognitive functioning that differs from normative, dominant social standards, and are often considered to be neurodivergent.
