Impact clinic: OT book club and social participation group in outpatient neurologic rehabilitation
Neurologic disorders often coincide with depression, resulting in a lower quality of life (Conroy et al., 2020). Research suggests that people with both neurologic problems and depression have reduced social support (Kamenov et al., 2016), which further exacerbates depression. Low social support has been associated with poor treatment outcomes, making this an important area to target in therapeutic intervention (Kamenov et al., 2016).
