CommunOT

Get started with these tips

Sometimes it's hard to jump right in and start connecting. We understand. If you're not ready just yet, take a peek at these initial steps to getting started.

There's no separate username and password to access CommunOT. The credentials are the same as your AOTA membership login on www.aota.org. Forgot your username or password? Reset it.

Complete your profile

Check out all of the profile fields available to you--the more complete your profile, the more ready you'll be to greet others in CommunOT. Start by adding a photo or a short bio. Explore your profile opportunities.

Introduce yourself

Say 'hi!' to your occupational therapy network by posting to the "Introduce Yourself" thread on the General Forum. Then, check out the latest and active discussions.

Browse and join communities

In the past few years since we introduced CommunOT, the number of available communities (i.e., interest groups) has grown. Browse through the available communities and check out the resources in each--each community has its own library, where members can upload standard files (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), podcasts, webinars, etc.

See a community that piques your interest? Join it! Click the “JOIN” button and you'll become a member of that community. You'll also be able to choose your preferred email option so you can keep up with the related conversation straight from your inbox and according to your preference.

Set your communication preferences

You'll be auto-subscribed to receive messages from AOTA's General Forum and the 1 to 3 SISs associated with your membership. If you’d like to receive a single email per day that includes content from all of your subscribed communities, you can set your messaging preferences to the “Consolidated Daily Digest” option.
