Program admissions criteria and formats

Successful completion of a master’s degree in occupational therapy or a professional doctorate in occupational therapy (e.g., OTD) is required to enter practice as an occupational therapist in the United States. Successful completion of an associate’s degree is required to enter practice as an occupational therapy assistant in the United States. Potential students have a number of different program formats available to meet this requirement. Here are a few of the more common program formats.
