Nancy Baker has served on the AOTF Board of Trustees since 2018 and was elected Secretary in 2020. While on the Board, Dr. Baker served on the Executive Committee and Investment Committee, all while chairing the Governance Committee. She has given generously of her time and other personal resources to advance the mission of the Foundation. Dr. Baker also served on the Scholarship Selection Committee, where she devoted hundreds of hours reviewing applications and recommending candidates to receive scholarships through AOTF and its scholarship program partners. Currently, she is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy at Tufts University.
Simone V. Gill, PhD, OT, OTR, FAOTA

Simone Gill is an Associate Professor at Boston University School of Medicine and is also the Director of the Motor Development Laboratory. Dr. Gill has served on the AOTF Board of Trustees since 2019. After serving on the Development Council, Dr. Gill became involved with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force to develop the newly established standing committee, Standing for Research Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (STRIDE). Simone currently serves as Chair of STRIDE to assist in developing, directing, and evaluating AOTF initiatives to promote diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice. Dr. Gill’s knowledge and expertise aided in the selection of scientific merit-based grant awardees as a member on the Scientific Review Group.
Forrest Pendleton, BA

Forrest Pendleton joined the AOTF Board of Trustees in 2019. He served on the Finance Committee and Audit Committee, where he has contributed to financial oversight include budgeting, financial planning, and financial reporting to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the Foundation’s resources. Mr. Pendleton is currently retired after working for 40 years on the California Franchise Tax Board.
Susan Stark, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA

Susan Stark is the Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy, Neurology and Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. She served on the AOTF Board of Trustees since 2019 where her intellect, leadership, and contemporary perspectives as a member of the Scientific Advisory Council have added significantly to Board deliberations. Susan served as a Reviewer on the Scientific Review Group, where she participated in evaluating and selecting grant winners for AOTF’s expanding research portfolio. Dr. Stark also participated and engaged in the development of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force, an effort to develop, direct, and evaluate AOTF initiatives to promote diversity and belonging, combat racism, heal trauma, and achieve equity and social justice.
Cheryl Strickland, OTR/L

Cheryl Strickland is the President and Owner of Choice Rehabilitation in Creve Coeur, Missouri. She has served with distinction as Trustee of the American Occupational Therapy Foundation since 2019. Her contributions to financial oversight include budgeting, financial planning, and financial reporting. While serving on the Finance Committee and Audit Committee she has ensured the financial health and sustainability of the Foundation’s resources. Ms. Strickland’s intellect, professional demeanor, and leadership have contributed greatly to Board development, governance, and strategic planning. Ms. Strickland also served on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force which helped establish the Standing for Research Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (STRIDE) Committee for the Foundation.
