The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and the Awards and Recognition Committee (ARC) honor the life and legacy of Susan Spratling McDonald, EdD, OTR/L. As a dedicated Chairperson of the ARC, Dr. McDonald made a lasting impact on our profession and the recognition of excellence within it. She passed away on November 7, 2024, and is deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working with her. Her contributions and passion for occupational therapy will not be forgotten.

AOTA Roster of Honor

The Roster of Honor, established in 1979, recognizes occupational therapy assistants who through their knowledge, expertise, leadership, advocacy, and/or guidance have made a significant contribution over time to the profession with a measured impact on consumers of occupational therapy services and/or members of the Association. In 2025, two new Roster of Honor awardees are recognized for this distinction.



AOTA Roster of Fellows

The Roster of Fellows, established in 1973, recognizes occupational therapist members of AOTA who, through their knowledge, expertise, leadership, advocacy, and guidance have made a significant contribution over time to the profession with a measured impact on consumers of occupational therapy services and/or members of the Association. In 2025, 62 new Fellows join this distinguished society.
