Washington, DC, Metrobuses are a quick and convenient way to get around the city. You can only board a Metrobus or Circulator bus at designated stops. 

The Metrobus stops are easy to identify. They have red, white, and blue signs or flags. Some have four-sided cases that include route and schedule information.

The DC Circulator operates as a public-private partnership. The signs for a Circulator stop are red with a yellow stripe at the top.

Fares for the Metrobus are $1.75 for regular routes and $4 for express routes (subject to change). 

Fares for the Washington DC Circulator are $1 for regular routes (subject to change).

Metrobus and DC Circulator accept exact change only, or you can pay using your SmarTrip card.

Taxis can be found and flagged down all over Washington, DC.  

Rideshares, like Uber and Lyft, fully operate in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
