The current state of AI: Its role in treatment planning

In both occupational therapy practice and broader discourse, the subject of artificial intelligence (AI) has garnered significant attention.

This article aims to expand upon Dr. Shruti Gadkari’s 2023 work in OT Practice, which provided an initial overview of AI’s potential relevance to occupational therapy. It examines the degree to which AI can contribute to the delivery of skilled occupational therapy by exploring its potential role in treatment planning. This article seeks neither to advocate for nor argue against AI’s role in occupational therapy; instead, it shares a snapshot of where things stand and how they might progress.
