On October 24, President Trump signed into law legislation to address the opioid epidemic that includes occupational therapy as a non-pharmacological pain management treatment. The Substance Use-Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment (SUPPORT) for Patients and Communities Act (HR6) was passed by the House and Senate earlier in the fall.
