AOTA Collaboration With NJOTA Results in Insurance Advocacy Win

In early 2019, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (Horizon) made a change in their credentialing policy that negatively affected occupational therapists (OTs) providing care in New Jersey. AOTA learned of this issue during a session at AOTA's Annual Conference & Expo in New Orleans, where a Conference attendee reported being denied reimbursement from Horizon because she held a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy but no higher-level degree.
