What new skilled nursing facility policies mean for OT

Skilled nursing facility (SNF) providers are breathing a small sigh of relief. Anticipated reimbursement changes were less severe this year than proposed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and allow for a 2-year phase in of reductions impacting SNFs. Below is an overview of AOTA comments, and highlights of some of the policies in the FY 2023 SNF Prospective Payment System (PPS) final rule in effect on October 1, 2022.
