Evidence-based assessments: Common data elements for OT practitioners

Selection of evidence-based assessments is integral to occupational therapy practice and research (Kramer & Grampurohit, 2020). There is a gap in selection of assessments used for practice and those used in research studies (Juckett et al., 2019). Practice administrators require assessments to be selected based on time efficiency, and they equally value the ease of administration and scoring and strong psychometric properties (Asaba et al., 2017). In sharp contrast, research studies allow the time and resources to be tailored to the selected battery of assessments with greater control in design and planning than is available during practice.
