A school-wide occupational therapy solution to the adolescent mental health crisis
The relevance and alarming need for a functional mental health and wellness occupational therapy (OT) service program for high school students is greater than ever. Students entering high school during the pandemic have struggled to reintegrate into their school communities (U.S. Department of Education, 2021). As a result of booming mental health needs, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), among other organizations, declared a National State of Emergency in Children’s Mental Health (AAP, 2021).
