Enhancing medication management for Muslim clients during Ramadan: Resources for OTPs

Ramadan is a religious observance for people of Muslim faith. It is one of the five fundamental Pillars of Islam, and it is considered mandatory for adult Muslims to fast during Ramadan. It is based on the Islamic lunar calendar and moves back by approximately 10 to 12 days each year (Brandeis University, n.d.). In 2025, based on the observed phases of the moon (Ramadan begins with the sighting of the crescent moon, which can vary by country), Ramadan is anticipated to last from late February to the end of March. During this spiritual time, there are many changes in daily occupations.
