Photovoice—Empowering individuals with IDD

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 1 in 6 (17%) of children between 3 and 17 years of age are diagnosed with a developmental disability, with intellectual disability being one of the most prevalent types (as cited in Zablotsky et al., 2023). Two key pieces of federal legislation are in place to support this population: the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA) of 2004 and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014.
