Scaife, B., Kurowski-Burt, A., Wheeler, S., & Levander, H. (2022). Long term care and autism: A neurodiversity approach. SIS Quarterly Practice Connections, 7(3).

Neurodiversity (ND) refers to differences in individual brain functioning as typical variations (versus deficits) of the brain that result in a range of behavioral traits among individuals (Disabled World, 2022). Individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, learning disorders such as dyslexia, and tic disorders such as Tourette Syndrome are neurodiverse.
