Policy Matters: 4 Lessons From a Fieldwork With AOTA’s Federal Affairs Team

By Elizabeth Hart, MS OTR/L As part of my fieldwork with AOTA's Federal Affairs department this summer, I had the opportunity to attend Congressional hearings and briefings, meet with legislators on Capitol Hill, conduct research to support AOTA's legislative efforts, interview and collaborate with AOTA staff, and learn about a wide array of policy issues currently shaping the practice of occupational therapy.
