AOTA Preparing You for Medicare Part B Payment Rule Final Policies: OTA/PTA Payment Differential Tied to “10% or More of Service” Rule
On November 1, 2018, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule and Quality Payment Program final rule display copy, which will govern Medicare Part B reimbursement rules beginning January 1, 2019. Although there were few surprises, a payment modifier was established in preparation for implementing a payment differential for occupational therapy assistant (OTA) services, beginning in 2022 as required in the Bipartisan Budget Act of
