Post Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS) has drawn considerable attention in recent years. Patients discharged from the hospital after critical illness often have residual physical, cognitive, and mental health deficits that go unaddressed by health care professionals (Needham et al, 2012). Most problematic are impairments such as fatigue, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, poor executive functioning, and poor memory, which are common and are frequently underrecognized.
