Entrepreneurship as an occupational therapist: Business lessons learned, deeper life lessons gained
I gained valuable insights as an occupational therapist (OT) who embarked on an entrepreneurial path, merging my professional expertise with the challenges and successes of running my own business. Here, I highlight the unique perspective that occupational therapy practitioners bring to entrepreneurship, with a focus on the transformative nature of starting and running a business and the connection among hope, problem-solving, and innovation. Interestingly, on this journey I discovered that the qualities that make an effective occupational therapy practitioner are not so different from those required to be a successful entrepreneur.
