Teaching in higher education: Perspectives as instructor, clinician, and student

Prior to becoming faculty, all teachers were, at one time, students. Yet becoming a student again after beginning to teach offered me a fresh perspective on the educator role. In this article, my goal is to instill confidence in and share some advice and resources with new or aspiring educators, based on literature and my firsthand experience of transitioning to teaching from clinical practice, and later returning to school outside the field of occupational therapy.
