Occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs) provide person-centered care and collaborate with clients to empower them to direct their own lives and foster meaningful solutions to challenging activities. Coaching, which is one of 10 enablement skills for OTPs (Townsend & Polatajko, 2013), is an approach to working with people that can strengthen the collaborative nature of the relationship between OTPs and clients to optimize health, wellness, and participation in daily activities.
