Medicaid and occupational therapy

Medicaid operates as a joint partnership between states and the federal government and provides coverage to more than 75 million low-income individuals. Although occupational therapy is recognized as a covered service under Medicaid, it is an optional, not mandatory, benefit for states to include in their programs.
