Women's health

Occupational therapy practitioners can address the unique healthcare needs of women related to their performance in everyday activities. Women's health is a broad topic and occupational therapy practitioners can design interventions that target participation in valued roles (e.g., mother) and the use of habits and routines (e.g., menstruation management). Occupational therapy practitioners can also address underlying body structures and functions (e.g., pelvic floor strengthening to reduce bowel and bladder leakage) to improve performance in everyday activities.
